At Marvesa, we take “quality” very seriously. We work in a market where the health of people and animals is central. So for us, food safety, sustainability and transparency are more than an obligation.
Quality management systems
Marvesa is specialized in by-products from the oils- and fats industry. These are residual streams from the food industry, but are not fit for human consumption. In most cases, these by-products are perfectly applicable in animal feed.
The animal feed industry carries a substantial societal responsibility to ensure the safe production of animal feed. Via the animals most products end up in the food chain again. Therefore, we have a very extensive quality control program for the products we sell to the animal feed industry. It’s not without reason that GMP+ has a separate chapter dedicated to by-products from the oils and fats industry. Marvesa has been instrumental in developing these standards and continues to promote them widely. Quality at Marvesa is not just a certificate on the wall; it’s in our DNA.
Sustainability
Sustainability within the entire food chain is no longer a trend but a necessity. This is driven, in part, by developments in legislation such as the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the Green Claims Directive, Sustainable Food Systems, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and more.
Marvesa has a long-standing tradition of value creation from by-products of vegetable oil refining. Our innovative blends of lecithin, fatty acids, and fatty acid distillates offer comparable performance while significantly reducing carbon emissions compared to traditional crude oil. These so-called “by”-products are still of high value to the animal feed industry. For example, Marvesa’s own LECIFEED® combines highly digestible energy with an inclusion of natural phosphorous, choline, vitamin E, and improves the general fat digestibility of the feed due to its emulsifying properties.
To ensure optimal utilization of our products, we actively participate in alternative markets, such as renewable energy. This commitment to sustainability aligns with our broader goal of contributing to a more environmentally responsible future.
