“Marvesa PhytoLipoGenics® products are mixtures of medium chain fatty acids and are highly anti-bacterial and improve the intestinal integrity.”
Marvesa has developed the PhytoLipoGenics® range for the stabilization of the intestinal microflora, the strengthening of the animal intestinal barrier and for the overall positive influence it has on animal physiology. Animals that are full of vitality are better armed against infection and illness, they have a more resilient immune system and they need less antibiotics.
Anti-microbial effect
The medium-chain fatty acids in PhytoLipoGenics®Vital Plus, PhytoLipoGenics®Vital Pure, PhytoLipoGenics®Vital Pro, PhytoLipoGenics®Vital SP and PhytoLipoGenics®Dry Vital Pure have an anti-microbial effect on both gram-positive (e.g., Clostridia and Streptococcus) and on gram-negative (e.g., E. coli and Salmonella) bacteria. In the specialist literature, we read that C12 fatty acids have a strong inhibiting effect on gram-positive bacteria and that C8 and C10 fatty acids have a strong inhibiting effect on gram-negative bacteria. The PhytoLipoGenics® Vital Plus, PhytoLipoGenics® Vital Pure, PhytoLipoGenics® Vital Pro, PhytoLipoGenics® Vital SP and PhytoLipoGenics® Dry Vital Pure all have a high concentration of, medium-chain fatty acids. This means that these products are highly anti-microbial. They also have high levels of free fatty acids (FFA). This means that the Vital products are very easily digestible; they are directly absorbed in the intestinal tract.
Technical performance
Tests have shown that PhytoLipoGenics® products improves growth and feed conversion while decreasing mortality. This trial has also shown that PhytoLipoGenics® Vital Plus and PhytoLipoGenics® Vital Pro decreases mortality. The higher the dosage, the lower the mortality.
PhytoLipoGenics® Vital SP is a mixture of medium chain fatty acids, mainly C12, from splitting of palm kernel oil. C12 fatty acids are strongly antibacterial. PhytoLipoGenics® Vital SP has high level of FFA; min. 90%.
PhytoLipoGenics® Vitalcithin is a lecithin-based product with medium chain fatty acids.
PhytoLipoGenics® Vital Pure is a mixture of medium chain fatty acids, C8, C10 and C12, from splitting and hydrolysis of palm kernel oil. C8, C10 and C12 fatty acids are strongly antibacterial.
PhytoLipoGenics® Vital Pro is a mixture of medium chain fatty acids, mainly C12, but also additional C8 and C10 fatty acids. C8, C10 and C12 fatty acids are strongly antibacterial.
PhytoLipoGenics® Dry Vital Pure is a powder product of medium chain fatty acids, C8, C10 and C12. C8, C10 and C12 fatty acids are strongly antibacterial.
PhytoLipoGenics® Vital Balance differs from all the other PhytoLipoGenics® products, as it comprises a unique mixture of short and medium chain fatty acids.

Lecithin may be produced from egg yolk, but more commonly used in aquafeed are soya and rape seed lecithin. It is well known that the phospholipids (PL) present in lecithin act as an emulsifier of lipids in the animal stomach and gut, but especially the nutritional benefits of lecithin is why fish nutritionists like to include it in fish and shrimp diets. Lecithin is widely used in feed for larval and juvenile stages of various species of fish and crustaceans, because those developing fish have a limited ability to the novo phospholipid synthesis.
read moreLecithin is a fat-like substance which can be produced from soya bean, rape or sunflower oil. After degumming the oil, the lecithin is extracted from the gum and then cleaned. Lecithin is a complex mixture of at least 60% phospholipids; the other constituents are triglycerides, phosphatidic acid, choline, tocopherols, etc. Lecithin has a positive effect on several metabolic processes, because phospholipids play an important role in such processes. The main effect of lecithin is that it works as an emulsifier.
